Home GP for sore skin in Manilva

Aside from the typical sunburn, there are a variety of conditions that cause your skin to become irritated or painful. And maybe they are not what you're expecting. Here we talk about why skin sometimes hurts, what causes it and when to see our home GP for sore skin in Manilva.

1. Fibromyalgia

What It Is: It's a chronic pain disorder characterized by tenderness in specific areas, such as your skin. Stiffness, exhaustion, and trouble focusing are also symptoms. It may as well be accompanied by some other few symptoms such as depression or anxiety.

What Causes It: Shortly, it is not known. Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning that the other potential reasons for the signs must be managed before fibromyalgia could be diagnosed.  Your dermatologist doesn't generally diagnose you with this condition.

2. Sunburn

What It Is: Excessive exposure ultraviolet light causes sunburn. Sunburnt  usually causes redness, peeling, pain, tenderness and sometimes blistering. Contact our home GP for sore skin in Manilva to get the proper treatment.

What Causes It: UV light damages skin cells, causing them to emit inflammatory signals and some undergo programmed cell death.

3. Shingles

What It Is: The chicken-pox virus causes shingles, but whether you've had chicken pox or been vaccinated, you already have the virus in your nervous system. Shingles occurs as a series of itchy red spots on the skin, similar to the pox, irritation or scabbing.

What Causes It: The virus will re-emerge along one of the sensory nerves when someone is tired, sick, or excessively stressed. In what we call a "dermatome," it usually only occurs along one nerve and is therefore limited to one side of the body. It may be causing nerve pain and sensitivity in that zone, as well as swelling and redness that leads to blisters and scabbing. It can result in infection and scarring in some cases.

4. Neuropathy

What It Is: Neuropathy is a broad term that refers to nerve dysfunction. This can lead to weakness, numbness, or discomfort.

What Causes It: There are several causes of neuropathy, including vitamin deficiency, diabetes, toxicity from chemical exposure, which includes autoimmune diseases, alcohol, trauma, chronic illness, or tumors. The diagnosis should be made by a neurologist, who would possibly use X-rays and MRIs, as well as nerve function tests and a physical exam.

5. Migraines

What It Is: Migraines are persistent headaches that can be accompanied by light and sound sensitivity, vomiting and nausea.  Skin sensitivity affects the majority of migraine patients at some stage.

What Causes It: It's not sure. It can be a combination of environmental and genetic factors. It's unclear why some people suffer from migraines and others don't. If the headaches continue, you should see a neurologist.
